Hints
From IdleOn MMO Wiki
Hints are divided into 4 zones (Blunder Hills, Yum-Yum Desert, Frostbite Tundra, and Hyperion Nebula). Every time you encounter a new feature, you'll unlock a new set of Hints to read through.
Zone 1 Hints
Hint intro
- So... what are Hints? Every time you encounter a new feature within the game, youll get a new hint.
- These hints will tell you specific details about the feature that you'd probably not realize on your own.
- Whenever you're confused, remember to go look at the Hint for it!
- Fun fact: You can BUY ALL in shops by dragging your finger to the right edge of the screen while pressing the plus button!
Game overview
- Wondering what the games is all about? At the start, you'll juggle between fighting monsters for cash and collecting resources to make items. However, you'll soon make new characters, who you specialize into certain Skills. You could have a Mining Berserker, who gets the best Ores for your Smithing Bowman to make into amazing armor for your Battle Mage to use to beat up monsters! You'll eventually build up a little family of adventurers who all work together to help you get to new zones and unlock more content!
NPCs
- Quests are NOT useless in this game, and I put actual effort into making them wacky and fun!
- MOST IMPORTANTLY, many quests give unique items and equipment that are super helpful for progressing in game!
- Also, the Piggy NPC's are the best NPC's!
Talents
- You get 3 Talent Points per Class Level, which is the levels you get from fighting monsters.
- You also get 1 Point every time you level up a specialized Skill.
- Eventually you'll choose Class Advancements, which unlock separate Talent Tabs.
- Each of these tabs have their own separate Talent Points, so you don't have to worry about which tab you want to focus on, since you can focus on them all!
Specialized skills
- Every major branch of class has its own unique Specialized Skills to focus on.
- Warriors focus on Mining and Fishing.
- Archers focus on Smithing and Bug Catching.
- Mages focus on Chopping and Alchemy.
New Characters
- Make new characters ASAP! Like... go do it RIGHT NOW, just close and open the app!
- ALL of your characters work all the time, so you can play on one, while the others gather materials for you!
- You won't get through the game with only one character, but don't worry! You can still focus on a main character, and treat the rest as minions!
Auto Movement
- IMPORTANT: You do NOT need to have this on to get AFK gains.
- Auto move makes your character move around and attack monsters without your input. It will not change maps, or turn in quests, or anything like that. It's perfect if you're interruped IRL but you don't want to close the game.
Tools
- Stats count even when you're not active in the skill that the tool is for. For example, equipping a pickaxe with +2 STR will give your character +2 STR even when you aren't mining.
Carrying Capacity
- Each item type has a max amount you can carry in a single inventory slot. Use Carry Capacity Bags, found from quests and other places, to increase these maximum amounts!
- These Max Capacities are not shared between characters, which means new characters you make will start with low carry capacities!
Hit Chance
- Open up Afk Info, found in the menu button in the bottom right. Looking at the bar in the bottom left of this Afk Info, the number under the 5% is the required accuracy needed for 5% accuracy. Anything under 5% is counted as 0%, so imagine this number as the 'minimum required accuracy'.
Attack Moves
- Assign Attack Moves by pressing the red flag in the bottom left of the Talent Window!
- Your character will use them while you're offline, so you should upgrade them even if you don't play actively!
Mining
- Mining Efficiency, explained below, is your main Mining Stat. It determines successful mine chance, and affects multi-ore drop chance. Also, the higher your Mining Efficiency is compared to the Efficiency Required to mine the rock, the more Ore you'll get from each drop.
- Required Efficiency can be found in AFK info, and is the number underneath the 5% in the bottom left.
- Mining Efficiency is increased with Mining Power, which you mainly get from pickaxes, as well as your STR stat and mining level.
Smithing
- Find and use recipes to unlock new items to craft, and unlock entire new tabs of items by crafting the Tab Expansion items!
- The Production tab is separate for each character. You gain 1 Point for upgrades per smithing level.
- The Production Capacity is mainly based off of your Material carry cap, which is one of the capacities you can increase with Carry Capacity bags.
Choppin
- Choppin works exactly like mining, so go see the Mining Hint if you're stuck on that. However, Choppin is different there is only 1 of each tree type which never goes away.
- Trees also drop leaves based on which region it's in. Eventually, trees will run out of leaves to drop, however they will regenerate leaves over time!
Colosseums
- Defeat all monsters to progress to the next Round!
- Pressing 'Next Round' will progress to the next round immediately, and increase your Score Multiplier too! However, the more enemies there are on the screen, the faster your multiplier will decrease!
- At the end of your run, you are rewarded based off your total Score.
Defence
- Blocks a % of all incoming damage. This % is based on how big your DEF is compared to the monster's attack.
- If your DEF is much higher than monster's attack, you will get 0 damage!
- This stat is VERY necessary for 'Survivability', something you need for AFK gains!
Special Talents
- Unlocked using Star Talent books. Find these books from certain quests, bosses, secret areas, tasks, and other thingymabobbers... you get what I'm sayin' lol.
- You get 1 special talent point every time you level up, both from monsters or in Skills.
Upgrade Stones
- Drag onto an equipment to boost it's stats, as long has the Equip as available Upgrade Slots left.
- If a stone says Random Stat, that means it could give either STR, AGI, WIS, or LUK.
- Most Stones only use up a Slot if it succeeds, but not all!
Cards
- Monsters and resources sometimes drop cards!
- Your card collection is shared by all your characters, and you can equip different combinations of cards onto each character!
- Collect enough of the same card, and it will Level Up! It's bonus will go up, and it'll get a shiny new border!
Tasks
- Talk to each world's Taskmaster to unlock new task sets!
- Everything you do with tasks is shared between all your characters, no need to switch!
- IMPORTANT: Recipes and gems from Unlocks are added AUTOMATICALLY to your anvil and account!
Crystal Monsters
- While actively fighting monsters, there is a rare chance for a Crystal Monster to appear!
- These monsters have extremely valuable drop tables, and extra special cards!
- Tough lads tho, they'll smack you sideways if you're not prepared!
Golden Food
- The more golden food you have within a stack, the bigger the bonus you'll get from it. The increase in this bonus per amount is not linear, so each time the stack gets bigger the bonus will get bigger by less.
Account Items
- Hold down on these items to add them to your account,Items like Boss Keys, Tickets, Gems and others, are shared between ALL your characters in your account.
- They are stored Globally, so you don't need to carry them in your inventory in order to use them!
Stamps
- Talk to Mr. Pigibank to access your stamp collection.
- All stamps, and their upgrades, are shared between all your characters.
- If your level is low compared to the bonus a stamp gives, you'll get an UNDERLEVELED warning. This feature just prevents stamps from being OP to new characters you make!
Star Signs
- Spend points to unlock new Star Signs, which can be equipped by all your characters!
- Earn points by completing Constellations. You can find dozens all across the game, but only if you look carefully!
- Haven't found any constellations, and wondering what they look like? Go to the Treetops map, and look at the bottom right branch!
Guilds
- Earn Guild Points(GP) by completing tasks in the GP tab.
- Guild leaders, indicated by the King and Crown role icons, spend everyone's GP on bonuses!
- These bonuses apply to all guild members.
- Every week you get 2 Guild Giftboxes (or more with the bonus) They are automatically put into your Storage Chest.
- You also get 10 GP for logging in each day.
Zone 2 Hints
Yum Yum Desert
- You made it to world 2! All your characters now have access to this world.
- You'll probably need to keep some characters in world 1, since lots of things in world 2 require resources from world 1.
- There are two secret minibosses somewhere out in the desert!
Party Dungeons
- Join a group and enter the dungeon! Based on your contribution, and how quickly you complete the dungeon, youll earn rewards!
Post Office
- Items in your Storage Chest count toward completing orders, so you don't have to carry the items in your inventory!
- ONLY completed orders are reset every 24 hours.
- Each character has their own set of Box upgrades. So yea, when you complete an order, all characters get Box Points to spend on upgrades.
- You'll get extra Box Points at delivery streaks of 5, 10, 15, etc.
- Silver and Gold pens aren't available yet... or are they??
Obols
- Similar to Equipment, but equipped at the Obol Altar.
- IMPORTANT: The 'family' tab Lv. Requirements count your COMBINED family class level. So if you have a lv.24 and a lv.26, you would unlock the lv.50 Family Obol slot!
Fishing
- Every time you catch a fish, it will bonk you on the head, dealing damage. Part of the fishing skill is having the defence and HP to survive these bonks.
- Each different fishing spot gives a hidden Depth bonus. Look at your AFK Gains and move between different fishing spots to find the one that gives you the Depth Bonus that you want.
- Accessories are shared between all characters.
Alchemy 1
- In the BREWING TAB, you assign players to cauldrons to fill up the big bar.
- Once filled, you can empty it to unlock New Bubbles, or just upgrade the cauldron itself
- Most bubbles are passive, so you always get their bonus. The large bubbles are Active, and must be equipped onto a character to get the bonus.
Alchemy 2
- In the LIQUID TAB, you have cauldrons that gain liquid over time.
- Assigning a player will speed up liquid gain, and gives your character 2X EXP compared to bubble cauldrons.
- Liquids will stop generating when you fill up a single bar, so remember to spend liquid often!
- The VIALS TAB is a collection of special resources! Whenever you find a new resource, drop it on top of the cauldron, and it has a chance to be added! Vials can be upgraded, just tap them!
Catching
- Attacking a Bug Nest will spawn a swarm of bugs.
- The more damage you do to the nest, the higher your 'Destruction' Bonus will be.
- Destruction Bonus is the number shown next to the bar. This bonus increases the amount of bugs you get while catching!
- The bugs will rebuild their nest every 24 hours, but don't worry, you can AFK on a swarm of bugs for longer and get full rewards
Multikill
- Increases number of kills you get every kill. So if you have a multikill of 50%, 2 kills would count as 3!
- IMPORTANT: This will NOT increase your exp rate, just the number of monster materials you get, and how quickly the next portal opens.
- Basically, 2 kills would still give just 2 kills of EXP, but it will gives 3 kills of resources!
Skill Prowess
- Ever notice how the Green bar gets replaced with an Orange bar in the AFK Info for skills? Well, this happens once you get 100% resource chance.
- Every time you fill this bar, more resources drop per stack! So instead of a drop being 1 resource, it'll be 2, then 3, then 4!
- NOW THEN, 'Skill Prowess' is the bonus that makes it EASIER to fill up this orange bar! The higher your Prowess for a skill, the less Efficiency you'll need to fill the orange bar, and the more resources you'll get!
Island expeditions
- islands using Message Bottles collected at Deepwater Docks.
- Each island offers unique daily and weekly activities, such as trading garbage for upgrades, fighting giant crystal mobs for candies, catching legendary fish for crafting, and completing challenges for shimmer upgrades.
- The cost to unlock islands increases with each one unlocked.
???
Zone 3 Hints
Frostbite Tundra
- You made it to world 3! This world is all about building things, as well as automation.
- Tower defence, shrines, and critter traps are new mechanics featuring 'placeable' structures.
- The auto harvester and refinery systems help automate resource collection, so your characters can go do more important things!
Refinery
- Whenever a 'cycle' finishes, every slot that you have turned 'ON' will produce 'power', so long as you have the required materials.
- When you press 'Refine', you get Refinery Salts based on how much 'Power' you have.
- If you refine at Max Power, that slot will level up, which increases the cost each cycle and the power each cycle.
Prayers
- Double click on prayers to activate them, giving you their bonuses and curses.
- The number of prayers you can activate at the same time is based on the highest level Wizard Class you have.
- Unlock NEW prayers by reaching certain waves in Worship.
???
Trapping
- Place traps on platforms with critters to catch them.
- Go talk to the 'Lord of the Hunt' NPC to unlock more Critter types to catch.
- Craft and equip better box trap sets to have more options when placing traps.
Worship
- Once you have a Skull Tool equipped, you will automatically gain 'Worship Charge' over time.
- Spend charge to play Tower Defence, and get rewards based on how many waves you beat!
- Or, you can spend charge to skip straight to the rewards, based on your Wave Hiscore from earlier.
- Wizard Defenders, WHICH YOU NEED, are unlocked in Construction!
Construction - Building
- There are 2 phases to building. First, you need to 'Build' using Build Rate from Cogs, then you need to 'Upgrade' using resources.
- The top row contains Utilities, like the 3D Printer and Talent Book Library.
- The middle row contains Wizard Defenders. YOU NEED THESE FOR WORSHIP.
- The bottom row contains Shrines, which you can place anywhere in the game for bonuses.
Construction - Cogs
- In order to boost your 'Build Rate', you need to place your characters and cogs on the Cog Board.
- You can unlock new slots on the Cog Board by placing flags.
- Create brand new Cogs by placing characters in the 'Cog Shelf'. Open the Cog Shelf with the top left button.
- When you make a new Cog, it's stats are based on the highest construction level you have in your account. The higher your best Construction player, the better cog stats you'll get!
Tower Defence - Colour
- Pay attention to a monster's colour!
- Grey monsters are normal.
- Green monsters heal continuously when below 50% HP.
- Red monsters apply a healing buff to nearby monsters when killed.
- Blue monsters go invincible for a short time after taking 5 hits.
- Orange mobs explode on death, stunning all nearby towers for a while.
- Purple monsters teleport forward every time they are hit.
3D Printer
- Using the Star Talent in Page 2 of your Star Tab, you can add samples to the Printer!
- The Quantity of the sample is always a % of your current AFK gains.
- Every hour, the printer will AUTOMATICALLY add all printed materials to your Storage chest! Also, it works while you're offline, all day every day!
Shrines
- Place shrines on any map. All players on that map will get its bonus!
- Level up shrines by claiming AFK time while on the Shrine's map.
- IMPORTANT: If you move the shine, it will LOSE ALL EXP TO NEXT LEVEL.
- The shrine will not level down though, don't worry!
- Also, shoutout to you for actually reading these hints!
Multikill Rate
- If you do 2x more damage than the max hp of a monster, you'll start Multikilling them, giving you EXTRA materials!
- The more damage you do, the higher your Multikill Tier will be (shown as a Purple Bar in the AFK menu), and the higher your Multikill bonus will be!
- FOR EXAMPLE: If a monster has 1000 HP, and you deal 8000 dmg per hit, you'd be in Tier 3. If your multikill rate was +50%, you'd have 150% multikill, which means you get +150% MORE materials from the monster!
Giant Monsters
- These absolute units drop 250x as much stuff as normal monsters.
- Giant Monster Spawn chance goes DOWN every time you kill one. This resets every weeks!
- You can see the exact chance for one to spawn in your player stats window!
???
- The Atom Collider is a late-game/end-game building in Idleon's Construction skill. It requires black salts from the refinery and crushed souls from World 5 mobs to unlock its features.
- Convert a set amount of resources into 1 atom, used to unlock new upgrades and level them up higher
- upgrading the Building itself will make the upgrade costs for atoms 0.1% cheaper (Increased every 10 lvs).
