Editing on the wiki
Hello, Just letting you know since I saw your recent edits, that somethings are like that because of the bot that creates and maintains those pages can't adapt to too many things on the wiki side if they're not basic syntax. This isn't to say that I don't appreciate what you edited on the Yondergreen page, I actually think it looks very nice and helpful, but I wanted you to know that if Lava ever changes anything about that NPC (or even the code structs of NPCs in general change) then the bot will completely overwrite that page. Until then everything you made will remain. The only exception to this is if a template has a notes parameter then Coight has coded the bot to find all of the notes and copy them so that they're added to what the bot puts. So anything within a note parameter is safe.
Letting you know this stuff because I still haven't gotten around to detailing a editing help guide that would include information like this because this wiki has gotten into a somewhat convoluted mess that either can't be simplified, or no one wants to do the work to make it happen (like cleaning up older templates).
Also, on the topic of duplicating, if the information is stored in a cargo database (the InfoItem template on every item page stores a lot for example) then you can 'duplicate' using that info with a query. Just in case you didn't know that we use the Cargo extension for that.
Anyway, welcome to the editing team! I'm best reached at the #wiki-discuss channel on the official discord if you need help from me or someone else. --Kiokurashi (talk) 02:13, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
